Justice for Jewel!

A recent heart-wrenching incident took place in Kokrajhar, Shantinagar Ward No. 2 area, where a street dog was mercilessly beaten to death by a resident named Suman Das. The dog was beaten by a rod inhumanely, breaking it's back and ultimately leading to painful death. The incident was reported in Facebook by a fellow resident on 23 May 2020. We, the members of Action For Animals, had a meeting today with the local SP who advised us to lodge a complaint in the police station. FIR has been lodged instantly and the Officer-in-Charge has assured us that proper action will be taken immediately against the culprit.

Dear friends, animal lovers and well wishers, abusing, maiming, torturing or causing any form of harm to street animals is a punishable offence under Section 428 and 429 of Indian Penal Code, section 11 and section 269/270 under Animal Cruelty Act. If you happen to come across any such inhumane conduct, anytime, anywhere, please contact the local police station immediately. You could also contact us and we will take the necessary measures (treatments, rescue, fostering or legal actions) as the situation demands. Help us help the voiceless, help us lend our voice to the voiceless
